Without pre-treatment, many plastics cannot be bonded or bond only under certain conditions. When these plastics are pre-treated with WEICON Contact Primer, their surface structure changes. Thereby, the joining of materials like polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP), belonging to the polyolefine group, is made possible. Even modern thermoplastic elastomers (TPE), PTFE and related plastics as well as silicones can be bonded, when pre-treated with WEICON Contact Primer.
LOCTITE® SF 770 is a primer coating used to make polyolefin and low-energy surfaces suitable for bonding with LOCTITE® instant adhesives. This product is only recommended for hard-to-bond substrates, including polyethylene, polypropylene, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), and thermoplastic rubber materials. LOCTITE SF 770 is not recommended for assemblies requiring high peel strength.
